Abstract

The article is devoted to the assessment of clinical and laboratory parameters in patients with a new coronavirus infection COVID-19 of moderate severity.

Material and Methods: A retrospective analysis of 118 case histories of patients treated at the RIC of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Dagestan with a diagnosis of "COVID-19 coronavirus infection of moderate severity" from July to December 2020, the average age was 52.6±6.1, men-64, women-54.

Results and Discussion. In the studied patients, the most common clinical symptoms were fever, increased fatigue/weakness, dry cough, headache and shortness of breath. According to CT of the chest organs at the time of hospitalization, 82.6% of patients had lung tissue damage corresponding to CT-1 and CT-2. In the clinical blood analysis, an increase in ESR was mainly observed, in some patients – leukopenia, lymphopenia and thrombocytopenia, in the biochemical blood analysis – an increase in the level of C-reactive protein (CRP), ferritin, glycemia, an increase in the activity of liver enzymes (ALT, AST), in the coagulogram – minor changes concerning fibrinogen and D-dimer. These changes were mainly detected in patients with COVID-19 with changes in lung tissue corresponding to CT-2. In 44.7% of them, changes in the lungs were preserved during CT in dynamics (when discharged from the hospital).

Conclusion.Patients with COVID-19 with preserved clinical, laboratory and radiological changes in the lungs at discharge from the hospital need dispensary observation to assess and treat long-term consequences.
