The Effect of Catharanthus Roseus in the Treatment of Cancer and Some Other Diseases

Abstract

It is known that periwinkle is a very beautiful flowering ornamental plant, which grows a lot in home gardens. But few people know that this is also a very beneficial medicine for health. Since ancient times, many people have known to take advantage of the effects of Catharanthus Roseus to get good results in the treatment of diseases. Catharanthus roseus is an herbaceous perennial plant originating from Madagascar, then introduced to many countries around the world, including Vietnam. Initially, periwinkle was only grown for ornamental purposes because the tree was healthy and gave beautiful flowers all year round. However, later scientists discovered many of its healing effects, especially the effect on cancer. This article analyzes some of the scientific components of Catharanthus Roseus as well as its amazing effects in the treatment of several diseases.
