Abstract

The ability of agricultural waste such as Corncob and Rice husk to act as filter media along with gravel and sand was tested using synthetic grey water. The drawer compacted filter was used in the study. Two sets of experiments were carried out to remove concentration of various parameters such as Chemical Oxygen Demand, Hardness, Chloride, Total Dissolved Solids and Turbidity. It was observed that both the agricultural waste showed 50-60% removal of the parameters.
