Abstract

Technology is progressing at such a breakneck pace that it has prepared the path for greatness in the healthcare field, not just in terms of therapy but also in terms of improving medical knowledge. “Augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and mixed reality (MR) technology improves your perception of the world around you.” Mixed reality (MR) is the merging of real and virtual worlds to produce new environments and visualisations, where physical and digital objects co-exist and interact in real time. Augmented reality overlays virtual elements in the real world, virtual reality is the digital recreation of the environment around the user, and mixed reality (AR) is the merging of real and virtual worlds to produce new environments and visualisations, where physical and digital objects co-exist and interact in real time. Mixed reality does not take place solely in the actual or virtual worlds.

Its applications in healthcare are numerous and growing by the day. These technologies will be increasingly used to increase the accuracy and effectiveness of current operations, as well as to enhance the human being's skills, both as a caregiver and as a patient. Many apps for AR in the medical field are accessible in the Android and Apple stores.

According to researchers in the healthcare industry, the worldwide AR market would develop at a significant 23 percent compound annual rate from 2017 to 2023. Although augmented reality is still in its early stages of commercial adoption, we can see it increasing swiftly. By the end of 2020, it is expected that 37 million gadgets will be in use. The virtual reality industry is still in its infancy, and the only way to go is up.

By 2020, the virtual reality business is expected to be worth $30 billion, with over 135 million VR headsets in use on a monthly basis by 2025. Mixed Reality has already made significant progress, particularly in the medical field. As it has a favourable impact on the medical business, it will continue to improve the quality of healthcare and medical training. Medical practitioners have been aided by technology in looking beyond the naked eye experience of flat-world and making revolutionary modifications to increase "realism."
