Spectrum Of Cns Tumors On Histopathology With Clinico – Radiological Correlation At Tertiary Health Care Hospital
Abstract
BACKGROUND: CNS tumors are most aggressive tumors of all types of cancers. Malignant primary brain tumors are the third leading cause of death in adolescents and adults aged 15 to 34 years being highest in elderly patients. Commonly present as headache, seizures, and altered mental status. Whereas radiological modalities aid in defining the anatomic extent of tumor with other imaging characteristics, histopathological analysis is often required to confirm the diagnosis. Radiological modalities like MRI and CT scans can be a useful reliable tool to help ruling out differentials of histopathological diagnosis to the pathologists thereby stating an accurate diagnosis and henceforth a correct approach to clinicians for the treatment
