Abstract

Background: The dental and medical ethics issues arising in health care provisions by moral values. It is defined as the disciplined study of reality in medicine. It also states about the day's practice today. Ancient ethnically codes were often compiled in the form of oaths. The dental and medical ethics issues arising in health care provisions by moral values. It is defined as the disciplined study of reality in medicine. A study conducted with purpose to test the knowledge on dental jurisprudence among dental students.

Methods: A descriptive cross sectional study was conducted among 100 dental students all who were included in the study. All of them who gave informed consent on that day were also present for the study. The distributed questionnaires were collected at the end. A cross sectional survey study was conducted among the dental students. Self-administered questionnaire containing 15 questions. Chi square test is done to analyse the data obtained using SPSS software (version23).

Results: An unbalanced knowledge of informed consent is seen among dental students. 68% of the population knows about informed consent 32% of the population were not aware. 56% of the population know about verbal consent and 44% Of the population doesn’t know about verbal consent. The p value is statistically significant (P<0.05).

Conclusion: In spite of our best efforts, unanticipated mishaps occur in dentistry too, as in other fields of medicine. So, in recent fears the need for informed consent has sprung up more than ever. There was also an increase in practices of ethics among the population. The survey among interns had created awareness on dental jurisprudence
