Introduction: Electromyography is an electro diagnostic medicine technique for evaluating and recording the electrical and recording the electrical activity produced by skeletal muscle. It is also used to determine the contraction of the skeletal muscle.

Aim of the study: The aim of this study is to create awareness among undergraduate dental students about electromyography

Materials and methods: A cross sectional descriptive study was conducted among undergraduate dental students. The sample size was 100 and convenience sampling was used. A questionnaire containing 15 questions excluding the demographic details. Frequency and percentage was calculated and the result  was represented as pie charts. Chi square analysis was done to compare the data between the genders.

Results: The results of the study revealed that 26.73% were male and 23.27% were female in which 24.26% of students age group between 18-25,29% of students age group between 25-40 and 4.46% of students age group above 40 years in which 34.65% of the UG(Undergraduate) students and 15.35% of the PG (post graduate) students attended this survey. Majority of the male students (38.61%) responded correctly for this question risk involved in EMG, when compared to female students. Pearson's Chi square value: 102.373a, P value - 0.01 (p<0.05), hence statistically significant.

Conclusion: It is shown as there is a moderate awareness about electromyography among undergraduate students.
