KNOWLEDGE AND AWARENESS ABOUT AIR FILTERS IN DENTAL CLINIC: A QUESTIONNAIRE SURVEY
Abstract
Introduction: A particulate air cleaner may be a device composed of fibrous, or porous materials which removes solid particulates like dust, pollen, mold, and bacteria from the air. Filters containing an adsorbent or catalyst like charcoal (carbon) can also remove
odors and gaseous pollutants like volatile organic compounds or ozone.
AIM:To create awareness about air filters in dental clinics.
Materials and methods: The sample size used for the study is 100. A self structured questionnaire was prepared and uploaded in Google forms.
This standard questionnaire in Google forms was circulated among the sample study population and at the end of the survey.
Discussion: Most people are unaware about air filters. People of the age group 18-35 years are more aware about air filters.Although the use of air cleaners can result in a significant reduction in indoor particulate matter concentrations and a significant increase in symptom-free days.
Conclusion: Air filters are important in dental clinics, it is vital to have air filters in dental clinics. It improves indoor air quality.
