Abstract

Background: A phobia is an excessive and irrational fear reaction.if you have a phobia,you may experience a deep sense of dread or panic when you encounter the source of your fear. chronomentrophobia is related to rare chronophobia, the irrational fear of timepieces, such as watches and clocks.

Aim: To analyse the phobia among a population-fear of clocks (chronomentrophobia)

Methods:The cross sectional study was conducted using a self administered questionnaire, analysed among dental students about chronomentrophobia in a private dental college which were distributed through google forms.The data were analysed by using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23.

Results: It is characterised by panic ,anxiety and claustrophobic.also known as prison neurosis,it may be the most common anxiety disorder in prison inmates.

Conclusion: Relaxation and stress relief techniques,yoga can help to overcome this phobia.
