Abstract

It is a very well known fact that steel is ductile in nature, so whether this ductility of steel helps to resist the earthquake shaking or not, is the topic of interest to know. What are the effects of seismic forces on the multistoried steel buildingsis the topic in which a lot of research can be done. In the present study, four storied buildings are analyzed using STAAD-PRO Software. Response Spectrum Analysis is used. The comparative analysis of Steel building without bracings and Steel building with bracings is done. The parameters used for analysis are base shear, storey displacement and storey drift. And at the end it can be concluded that there is only negligible amount of difference between the parameters taken into account for analysis, when steel building is analyzed with and without bracing.
