Abstract

In the last five years, significant progress has been witnessed regarding the process of beating lung cancer. For instance, program activities that influence public policy while covering information and research have been funded. In turn, the progress has been associated with the realization of an unprecedented level of optimism, opportunity and momentum while covering the condition’s devastations. This paper focuses on some of the strategies, policies and existing legislations that England has put in place while seeking to improve the rates of survival among patient groups. Some of the major goals that the country grapples to achieve include promoting awareness regarding the risk of lung cancer, reducing the number of smokers to a dramatic extent, fostering early diagnoses, promoting survival by promoting low-income communities, and embracing actions that yield fewer side effects. Regarding the promotion of research, healthcare authorities in England have created the right environment in various ways. For instance, an enhancement of the understanding of cancer biology has been a focal point by engaging in programs that seek to achieve early preventions, screening and diagnosis. The government has been active in fostering research into behavioral change regarding the control of tobacco.
