Abstract

The selected study employed quasi-experimental research in which 400 participants were selected in the context of Enugu State, specifically in Nsukka and Enugu cities within Nigeria’s south-east zone. Also, the study involved the assignment of participants into control and treatment or experimental groups. While the intervention or treatment group was exposed to the public health experts’ health intervention, their counterparts in the control group were only exposed to a health talk minus the education intervention. The independent variable entailed health education, while the dependent variable involved hypertension-related self-care practices, prevention, and knowledge. Indeed, the measurement of the variables was in terms of changes in the mean hypertension knowledge score in the two groups of participants.
