Abstract

Background:

GB Syndrome is a very rare autoimmune disease that attacks the nervous system. Not even the somatic but also the autonomic and even cranial nerves are involved. Progressive weakness that usually ascends in the patient’s body is the commonly complained symptoms. If not identified and treated immediately may be very dangerous. This study puts in an effort to find the demographics, clinical profile and seasonal variation if any in the west coast population of India.

Methods:

The patients who were admitted in Wenlock hospital, Mangalore were involved in this study. The sample size of the study was 57.

Results:

The mean age was found to be 43.83 years. Majority of them complained of flue like antecedent events followed by diarrhoea. Quadriparesis were complained in majority of the patients
