Abstract

In all stages of the drug discovery and development process, analysis of pharmaceutical compounds and newer pharmaceuticals is routinely used. In most pharmacopoeial monographs, thin layer chromatography investigations are one of the most important identity tests. HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography) is a vital qualitative and quantitative technique for determining the concentration of pharmaceutical and biological materials. It is the most versatile, safest, most reliable, and fastest chromatographic approach for drug component quality control. The purpose of this article is to discuss several aspects of HPLC, including as the principle, kinds, apparatus, and application.
