Abstract

HPTLC is a powerful analytical method that is equally suitable for qualitative and quantitative analytical tasks, and it is one of the most current analytical tools available. HPTLC is based on TLC, but with improvements that improve the resolution of the compounds to be separated and allow quantitative and qualitative analysis of the compounds. The potential for hyphenating HPTLC with other analytical techniques looks to offer a lot of promise for analysts who were previously hesitant to adopt planar chromatography.
