To Study The Effects Of Covid-19 On The Diabetic Patients
Abstract
The World Health Organization selected the disease from the Public Health Emergency of International Concern in January 2020, and the epidemic in March 2020. The SARS COVID-19 disease is affecting more than 219 countries and has over 120 million confirmed cases in its territories.3 Corona viruses (CoVs) are viruses wrapped with a single-stranded, positive-sense RNA genome. The symptoms of these diseases are difficulty in breathing, fever, cough, cold, muscle pain and feeling tired.
AIM: To study the effects of covid-19 on the diabetic patients and specific care to be taken
MATERIAL AND METHOD: The material required for the review was taken from the databases of Pub-Med, Web of science, the website of World Health Organization, and International diabetes federation.
RESULT: Patients with well-controlled blood glucose levels showed a substantially reduced death rate than patients with poorly controlled blood glucose levels among diabetic COVID-19 patients.
CONCLUSION: Diabetes and hyperglycemia are self-regulating predictors of death and morbidity in patients infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and glycemic management may improve patient prognosis. Insulin resistance, inflammation, or hypercoagulation are all possible causes of the risk found in diabetics, as well as underlying obesity, which can contribute to negative outcomes. To avoid complications in diabetes patients, it is important to adopt specific preventative steps.
