Abstract

Ayurvedic Dietetics (Pathya Kalpana) is a sui generis (one-of-a-kind) concept that is only referenced in Ayurveda and not in other medical sciences. The major goal of this description is to emphasise the importance of diet in preserving one's health as well as curing various disorders. ‘Pathya Kalpana' refers to the methods of preparation that will keep the pathya, i.e. Dhatus (fundamental constituents of the body) channels or systems will be healthy, and the mind will be at ease. Things that are the polar opposite of these are referred to as "Apathya" (non healthy). Any food's qualities are determined by its dose, efficacy, and time. All three of these things are variables, and they change all the time. As a result, when evaluating the quality of any food item, one should keep the following in mind: Consider it on its own terms. Varying preparations, such as Manda-Peya-Vilepi-Yavagu (rice gruel of various consistencies), can be used to produce the yield of "Pathya Kalpana." Clinically, a specific diet formulation can be given after taking into account individual differences. When recommending a specific diet preparation to a person, there are a few things to keep in mind. The proposed components should be readily available, and the dish should be simple to prepare. Tandula (Oryza sativa linn.) and Mudga (phaseolus mungo Linn.) are examples of simple components that can be used to make cuisine. This article provides a peek at Pathya Kalpana's utility and applicability in clinical practise. In this instance, in this overview, a few key formulations are presented from a disease perspective, which will aid the doctor in making recommendations in a variety of situations. Ayurveda is a life science that has placed more emphasis on illness prevention.Health care ('Swasthasya Swasthya Rakshanam') instead of treating diseases ('Atursya Vikaar Prashanam'). Ayurveda not only handles medication for ailments but also employs Anupana, Aahara, Vihaar etc as an essential element of healthcare and illness management. Food in Ayurvedas is said to have an impact both on mental and bodily wellness.Ayurvedic dietetics Pathya aahara kalpana is a unique Ayurveda concept. The fundamental purpose of Pathya aahara kalpana is to underline the diet's function in the maintenance of physical health as well as in the treatment of diverse foods such as Dosh, Dhatu, Mala and Agni. So it should be recognised to all human beings that good understanding of Aahara (food) and its relevance has superior effects.
