Abstract

INTRODUCTION: A fingerprint is an impression made by the frictional ridges of the finger.  Whenever We touch things (like a coffee cup, a door, a keyboard, remotes, mobile-phones, etc.,)  we leave our fingerprints on that object or surface. It is like that we leave our unique birth  signature in our fingerprints1. Just like our signature fingerprints are also unique for everyone.  No two people in the world share exactly the same fingerprint. Even identical twins, who have  identical DNA in them, don’t have the same fingerprint. This uniqueness allows fingerprints to  be used in all sorts of ways, including for personal identification cards, biometric systems, mass  disaster identification, in criminal scenes. No challenges are faced in the previous novel  researches This research is needed to develop a new technique for identification of latent  fingerprints. This research also fulfills the deficiency of work on identification of aged latent  fingerprints. The aim of this study is to find a new technique for visualisation and analysis of  latent fingerprints using Lodhra Bark powder on different surfaces like walls, floors and doors. It  is a retrospective study. Novel products are used in this research. This research should be  continued to trials

AIM: The aim of this research is to find a new technique for visualising the latent fingerprints

MATERIALS AND METHODS: The sample is taken in powder form. Based on the previous  research work articles will be collected and the work be carried out accordingly. Lodhra bark is  collected and dried for 7 days. After that it was kept in the shade dry for 3 days. Then it is made  into powder form.

RESULTS: Then using the powder fingerprint dusting is done. Randomly selected 15 people are  asked to make finger impressions on the walls, doors and floors. Then using the prepared Lodhra  bark powder those fingerprints are dusted.

CONCLUSION:Thus, from the above research, we can get the visible fingerprints using lodhra  bark powder but the fingerprints that are developed using lodhra bark powder do have enough  properties to get fine well defined prints which can be used as a valuable tool to identify the

suspect and for law enforcement. And this lodhra bark powder is cheaper and easily available  than other powders which are currently used for dusting. It is also non allergic and non toxic.  KEYWORDS: latent prints,Innovative technique, Lodhra bark powder, Novel method.
