Abstract

Introduction: A fingerprint is an impression made by the frictional ridges of the finger on the various surfaces such as floors, walls, doors etc. This uniqueness allows fingerprints to be used in all sorts of ways, including for personal identification cards, biometric systems, mass disaster identification, in criminal scenes.Fingerprints are the gold standard for individual identification within the forensic community. Fingerprints are the patterns formed by the raised papillary ridges on fingertips, which contain rows of pores that are made by the sweat released from our  sweat glands. No two people in the world share exactly the same fingerprint. Even identical twins, who have identical DNA in them, don’t have the same fingerprint.A latent fingerprint are  friction ridges of the finger that are not visible in our normal eyes which are  on an object by means of perspiration, oils.

Materials And Methods: In this study strawberry fruit was brought from the fruit shop and then dried under room temperature for a month. Then the dried fruits were grained to get a fine powder extract from nanotechnology lab present in blue lab(SDC). Using the strawberry powder, Randomly selected 20 people were asked to make fingerprints on different surfaces.Fingerprint powder is applied by brushing it on the surface. It mechanically adheres to the oil and moisture components of the latent print. When the powder particles adhere to the grease or moisture forming the latent prints, it causes them to become visible. And pictures of those fingerprints are taken for records.

Results And Discussion: This research also fulfills the deficiency of work on identification of aged latent fingerprints. Thus, from the above research, we can get the visible fingerprints using strawberry powder the fingerprints that are developed using strawberry powder have enough properties to get a fine well defined prints which can be used as a valuable tool to identify the suspect and for law enforcement.

Conclusion: Strawberry powder with latent fingerprints may be countered at crime scene and should be discounted as possible sources for processing. It proved to be satisfactory.
